We annually give $12,000 to Arusha Lutheran Medical Center (ALMC), the larger of the two hospitals run by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania in the town of Arusha. Most of Africa, including Tanzania, has a lack of doctors. This creates competition for the existing doctors. The specialists are particularly in demand. The money we donate supplements physician salaries to keep ALMC competitive so their physician staff stays stable.
